Street Animal Care

There are so many animals on the streets of India. Often, we see them suffering, but we feel like there’s nothing we can do about it. But at Braj Animal Care, we refuse to give up on them, whether they be dogs, birds, monkeys or other species. We are determined to do everything we can to make sure every animal gets the nutrition and medical care they need.

We believe that all of Vrindavan’s animals deserve to be free from hunger and terrible, painful diseases – many of which can be easily cured with just a little care. For the last six months we have been running a daily feeding program and providing medical care for Vrindavan’s street dogs. The feedings are scheduled two to three times a week – they are arranged once before dawn and once after dark, when the crowd thins and there is less traffic to disturb the animals. In September, 2020 we completed 187 treatments. Click here to read a detailed report of our medical cases during September 2020.

With your support, we hope to extend our program to serve as many animals as possible, so that all of them can live a healthy, happy life.
Our most urgent need is to establish an animal shelter; this will serve as a home for elderly and handicapped animals, as well as a recovery centre for the sick and injured ones. Our vision includes a fully operational clinic so that all treatments can be done onsite, along with office and storage space and accommodations for volunteers.

Over the next year, we also hope to have a complete vaccination program in place for the street dogs and an expanded feeding program covering the entire Vrindavan area.
