 In October 2020, Braj Animal Care completed 322 treatments.

  • Of the 322 treatments we completed in October, 51 of these treatments were new patients, 191 were follow-up treatments for existing patients, and 80 were treatments performed in assistance to the local wildlife authorities or other groups.

  • The total number of new individual patients was 131, including 51 patients taken care of exclusively by Braj Animal Care and 80 patients that were taken care of partly by Braj Animal Care and partly by other organizations.

  • Amongst follow-up treatments, 168 treatments were in continuation of cases begun in October, whereas 23 were in continuation of cases begun in September.

  • Amongst patients taken care of exclusively by Braj Animal Care, 64 patients recovered, 10 died, and treatment was still ongoing for 7 at the end of October. This includes cases that started in September but which had not ended in recovery or death by the end of September.

  • Of new patients exclusively attended to by Braj Animal Care, only 14 were cows, 36 were dogs and 1 was a bird.

  • Of cases where we assisted other organizations or wildlife officials, 48 were cows, 12 were dogs, 13 were monkeys, 6 were birds and 1 was a neelgai (antelope).

  • The primary causes of suffering in all new cases we handled exclusively or assisted with were: maggots (48 cases), road accidents (34 cases), abuse (17 cases), electric shock (5 cases) and rabies (2 cases). The causes of 25 cases were unknown.

  • Of all new traffic accident cases we took on or assisted with, the locations were as follows: Vrindavan Parikrama Marg (8 cases), Old Mathura-Vrindavan Road (7 cases), Narhauli-Bharatpur Road, Mathura (5 cases), Vrindavan’s Old Town (5 cases), Maholi Road (4 cases), Chhatikara Road (3 cases), Govardhan Road, Mathura (2 cases)

  • Of all abuse cases we took on or assisted with, 14 cases were in Vrindavan’s Rukmini Vihar (acid attack case), 1 was in Teraah Village, 1 was in Akrur Village, and 1 was in Mandi Chaurah, Mathura.
